Why is everyone bashing over the new Smash Bros?

I was really looking forward to playing this game after release but everyone says it's exactly like brawl or very similar to it. Obviously I do wan't the game to at least be almost as fast as melee but the majority of players are now making me regret my pre orders.

After hearing a lot of times tat the new smash brothers games will be very slow and not competitive i decided to watch/read a few reviews on the internet and YouTube, and they where saying the exact same if not, worst..

I didn't get a chance to play the game as I live in the UK, and I understand that France is getting a chance to try the game, but i won't be able to attend that.

I just want to know everyone's answer on the new titles, is it as slow and as floaty as brawl or is it in the middle of both melee and brawl? Does it lack competitive aspects? I really don't want this game to be as hated as brawl was, I understand that a vast majority of melee players hate brawl and will probably never player it, I just don't want the same thing to happen to this game...

I also understand that this is an early build and that smash brothers was taking notes from players and hopefully, if i the game really is slow, it will be fixed upon and changed to at least appeal to both sides.
Sorry about my grammar, i'm getting slightly tired and I feel like sleeping.

The game seems fine to me. I think its going to be better than Brawl. We were playing an earlier build of the game anyways. I think that most people's problem is they want a more fast paced game. But its mostly about the play style. We actually have two threads about peoples positive and negative opinions on the game if you want to check them out.

You must play the game and discover whether or not you like it for yourself. If you regret your pre-order, cancel it and rent the game once it launches. The title is certainly reminiscent of Brawl; but at the same time, it is not Brawl. Smash 4 is its own entity and it is incomplete as of current. There is not an objective way to determine the way the game will play until we divulge into the meta-game.

Which honestly, is kinda dumb. Especially since it's only a demo, and an old build, no less.

That's literally the reasons i always hear for hating on it. And then i roll my eyes (or laugh at the Project M beggars) at the people saying that.

From what I majority hear, the new ones are slow, floaty, less combo oriented, less competitive. All around, not worth a serious player's time.

I have other reasons on why I hate it.

The soundfonts and SFX suck, the veteran characters were butchered, in terms of personality and portrayals, they reuse material(namely, the official art) for nearly everything, potential modes and ideas(a better stamina mode) still haven't been used fully, the trophy gallery is crap compared to Melee, it lost the Saturday Morning Charm the first game had; instead going for more generic "epicness(I hate Brawl's Opening)" The Announcer is weak compared to the first two games.

There are many things about this Smash that ticks me off, and for one thing, it's not the newcomers.

I don't think that people really don't like it because its not Melee. Its just that its a slower game thats all. Melee players want a game with characters they enjoy just like everyone else does. Gameplay is important though.
