Why doesn't Dracula's Castle have Castlevania tunes?

It's kind of jarring to hear Mario tunes on the stage. I've since replaced them myself, but still, it seems like kind of a missed opportunity. Is it something that was never considered, or maybe some kind of copyright issue, or what?

I imagine the PMBR wouldn't want to have any sort of legal issues with distributing music that's not from a Smash game. Same reason they got rid of Ballad of the Goddess for the Skyloft stage.

^ this, and for the most part, the pmbr are not touching aesthetics, hence why you don't see melee vertex edits or textures. As customization is very personal, they are leaving it open for us to fill in. Lastly, it could easily prove difficult deciding on castlevania songs, as many oppose metal while other oppose pop.

I imagine using outside-of-smash intellectual properties and 3D Models is at least infringing, but seeing as we made the front page of IGN I don't see what the problem is.

An article on IGN is in no way a safety net from legal issues, if anything increase the likelihood of action being taken since it becomes harder to ignore.

It works the other way around. If it's already been given so much exposure (both Castlenvania and Skyloft with there own IGN articles/videos no less) I don't see how a single song could tip the boat over from what's already been done. If anything it the Skyloft from Smash 4 looks just like the one in Project M.

Skyloft seems to have undergone a change in 2.6, instead of sweeping through the village it remains mostly above the clouds. It may be to reduce lag, but idk.
As with the songs, I suppose the PMBR is choosing to play it safe, and I agree. Customization is relatively easy and prevents the them from being held responsible. Everybody wins in the end.

I have the Megaman 8 theme as a menu bgm. It's probably the best thing I've ever done to the game besides also adding the F-Zero GX garage theme as a menu bgm as well.

Well since pmbr is hacking sakurai's own game they can't do anything about it. Since pmbr is trying to be as legit as possible they're gonna be treated as such (ie dealing with lawsuits n such). But none of that would matter anyways if everyone knew how to convert there mp3/wav to brstm format.

Last I knew stealing stages from other games was considered copy right infringing too, but okay, I really don't see how using music is any worse then taking assets from other Wii games and using them for stages but what ever.

Still it is super easy to get some Castlevania music, you just gotta add some brstms to your STRM folder and rename them to go over Luigi's mansion music. There's a guide pinned in this topic on how to that, so I suggest looking into that.
