Why does c stick smash p and down when set to "attack" in controller options?

I was almost really excited when I realized I could set the c stick to my tilt attacks, but for some reason it still smashes down and up with this. It's great for forward tilt and down tilt while in the air because you don't fall fast, but why does it still smash with the other directions?

Lame. Can this be modded?

The glitch isn't exclusive to Project M it's in brawl too. Idk how you would mod it.

Having it set to smash still prevents you from fast falling dairs.

You don't fastfall with cstick dair in Project M at all.

Holding up in brawl and then hitting the cstick while you were just standing there made you do an up tilt. Crouching and hitting the cstick made you do a down tilt. We fixed these to make them do their proper respective smashes. However, we are unable to see what your cstick is set to, which makes it so that both Smash and Attack on cstick will cause up and down smashes.
