First off...when i saw this i would be thinking to myself

"Are you actually asking me that? why do i enjoy it?"

Is it for the simple fact thats its fun to play that we enjoy playing
it's something we can play with friends and it let's me meet new people, is it that simple?

its more deeper then that? Why?
Because i get to use my favorite nintendo characters and have them kill each other. Yet unlike other fighters such as Street Fighter and GG/BB the combos are really dynamic. The game itself may present itself as a simple no brainer, but it has so much depth when it comes to a competitive level that you'd wonder if it really IS stilll a party game The stages also arent as straight-forward as your typical traditional fighter either. Their layouts and hazards make them actually factor in how favorable a matchup can be...whether it helps the character or helps the actual player, mainly because i can play it with friends and i can play it with other people that are good not just playing it for casual reasons but just for the sake of getting better and challenging other people? but thats not the hold thing, im sure people has more stuff an feelings for the game, I wanna fine out how deep is smash, how do people really feel about the game, is it just plan "F.U.N" "F. is for friends who do stuff together, U is for U and Me, N, is for anywhere and anytime at all, down here in the smash community" or is there something more to it.

how would you feel if you were making a livein from playing melee? would it just be for the FUN then? or is it just the the community we love to much :)

The first time I played for the 64 I thought it was the best game ever I was at least 8 years old at the time. I remember the day I first played it was at a friend's house in Puerto Rico, after a few games everyone decided go out and play. I still wanted to stay inside and play so I began protesting with tears. xD As of now I guess I play it because I love the gameplay it's unique, I love competition, and I get to use my favorite legendary Pokemon. <3

I refuse to be associated with Smash anymore. I hate Brawl, my internet sucks for 64, and I don't have the car nor the friends to get into Melee, so I'm pretty much stuck. I'd be out of here if it wasn't for the PC and the fact that I blew 12 bucks on the premium here

Well, i play smash for reasons beyond just the fun factor. I play the game to introduce the dynamics and depth of video games to ppl that only see it as a pastime. I feel the game has everything it takes to be competitive and help those that seek a challenge in something that doesn't need to much time to be great at. Living in the bahamas and seeing everyone do the same damn thing everyday is frustrating and repetitive. Alot of ppl want something new to do, in days like these i see kids using there tournament winnings to help around the house, when usually finding work at that age is hard and just overall getting into something positive. Meeting friends that aren't all about smoking on the blocks and teach negative crap that gets you no where in life.

It's also something i see that ppl can compete at, at any age. Most sports today is cut up into gender, age and weight and height. Compeitive gaming eliminates this barrier and allows anyone to compete with everyone. I just feel that we aren't ready for a change and ppl don't see this, so all they do is stick with what they think works and that is why i think we are moving backwards as a nation really.

That is the part that makes me wanna stick with it. It's not just smash in general, but the idea of gaming on a competitive level and the experience it brings to the younger generation, which should be the main focus here.
