Why do they bring back Mario's fireball despite it not being used between SMB3 and NSMB? Why do they bring back the cape even though it was only in Super Mario World? Why do they bring back the tanooki suit while it wasn't used between SMB3 and SM3D? Why give Mario the USA costume that was only in that NES Open game? Hell why put R.O.B. and Duck Hunt in Smash when they were only in the NES days?

Exactly what I'm saying! haha they obviously are gonna have references to iconic series and/or items from Nintendo's history.
