Why do some professional players do this?

Sometimes I see them automatically cancel the game to no contest when they have been hit and the hit would kill them

i know rage quiting but i would have never figure that it was the aswer to the question.

its also a psychological thing that can help keep you in a good mindset mid set. sort of like when a fox or falco side bs into the blastzone in melee when they cant recover. it can help you keep your momentum. you dont need to see the demoralizing defeat screen when you take a no contest.
