Why do I suck so awfully at this game? Any help is greatly appreciated.

My win to loss ratio is 2 wins, and 38 losses. Why am I sucking so bad? (I only have the 3DS version)

Your probably fairly new to the smash series and don't know how to play effectively. Even zero started as a button mashing noob at one point. The important thing is that you are at the best possible place to learn how to improve your game. Just find a relatively neutral character like Mario and work on the basics. YouTube is a great place to go for in depth help on how to play. I suggest going there if you don't know any experienced smashers that are willing to help you in person.

ive been playing since i was 11 with brawl. I used to be able to demolish my friends at this game. Now i just get my ass handed to me. Perhaps i just lost my skills, since i haven't played regularly in a year or two. But anyways, thanks for the help! :)

That's probably why then, Sonic became way less fun for me ever since a 1-week vacation I had. I just complety lost my skills with him for some reason. Thankfully though, I havn't lost anyone else.

That don't mean **** when you get online. You could be the least ****tiest out of your bunch.

In order to get really good at the game, you need to understand the fundamentals. Spacing, patience, punishment, footsies, etc. the first step to all of this is to stop rushing down and don't jump in with aerials as your only approach.

Here's some advice to get you going:

Watch tournaments and prerecorded Smash videos. Especially those that have top players in them. Even if you don't pick up much on the first viewing or the second, you'll begin to start analyzing what the players are doing and eventually be able to criticize some of their decisions.

Go to Gameplay Advice and General Discussions. They can help.

What character are you playing, and how are you playing them? If you don't know who your main is, try all the characters until you find one that meshes with their profile.

LEARN THE BASICS. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO, NO EXCEPTIONS. This will make you much, much, much better.

I used to be a button masher, but when I was 11, I slowly came to be aware of a competitive environment, which made me push myself to find out more on how to get better. Just keep playing and practice basic-advanced techniques every day, and know how to apply them in a real battle.

After playing for at least and hour a day, you're bound to get better.

Yo, it's your main Koopa Googers here with some tip-top advice for getting better at Smash.

All you need to do is play some Bowser Jr. Use a little bit of that side B into any air you want.

Play until you get at least 1 style kill every day.

Easy wins, with style.

Peace, from Googers.
