Why do I get an email...

for every single post someone makes in a thread I've replied to?

Can you please stop?

I tried turning off all of the "accept email from ___" in my settings and it does nothing. Do I seriously have to "unsubscribe" to every thread I post in?

I had this problem too, except I never (at least not intentionally) fixed it. It seemed like it just fixed itself over time.

Change your subscription thing so it doesn't alert you for ever new post. It be under one of the options in the user CP.

User CP > Edit options - default subscription options. That should do it, but any threads that already give you email alerts will have to be unsubscribed from or disabled individually.

I can't imagine why this would be the default setting. It's a horrible idea.

Yeah, I turned off the email notification, but I still get them from threads that are still active that I 'subscribed to'. Unfortunately those are the three big ones that are getting zillions of replies, like Gimpy's.

Go to Control Panel -> Edit Options. Then under "Default Subscription Mode" select "Do Not Subscribe" and save ur settings. Done.

I'm not sure why subscribing to every thread and getting emails is the default. It annoyed me when I first started here too.

Just an update, I did everything the previous post said earlier on today but regardless of my efforts I still recieved an email informing me that Aryman (above poster) found a fix for the problem.

If you're too lazy to figure it out, here:

at the top of the page....

on the side of the page....

somewhere in the middle of the page...

towards the bottom of the page...

I was somewhat wondering this too, topic was in the wrong place though, but the 3rd post or so helped me out.

lol. I remember how this spammed the hell out of my Email. I fixed it a while ago. But yeah, that definitely shouldn't be default setting.

Yeah I couldnt stop this and it was really annoying, so I just quickly created another spare gmail account and diverted it all to that one!

Or you could do what Mic said and unsubscribe from the threads you're already subscribed to, which would still send you emails unless you unsubscribe from them.
