I like to talk about Peach's butt. And when I do that, people say stuff like "dude, it's a fictional character, get a real girl". Then the very same people watch the movie Avatar, and are brought to tears by the fictional characters in that movie. Then I tell them "dudes, they're just fictional characters". But guess what? They tell me to shut up.
Above was just an example.
It's no secret that we care deeply about fictional characters. When the anime Pokémon got rid of Brock in season 2, so many people got so upset that they made him return to season 3. He's just a fictional character like Peach. He doesn't exist.
Also, in Final Fantasy VII a lot of people cried when Aeris died. She's just pixels. Completely fictional. Doesn't exist. And just imagine what would happen if Nintendo removed Link from the next Zelda game. Link doesn't exist, he's just made up of pixels like Peach's butt.
When I talk about Peach's butt, something changes. Somehow, it's OK to talk about real girls butts. It's also OK to talk about fictional character's story and emotion. But when you talk about fictional character's assetts, it's taboo!
Why is it like that? Fictional character's assetts are like the catwalk in Italy, it's all about dreams and imagination that you can't get in real life. You'll never see your girlfriend do one of Peach's butt attacks, or dress herself up like a princess (unless she's into cosplay). As soon as I bring up Peach's butt, the thread gets locked. But if someone brings up, say, Link's emotions, everyone joins in the discussion.
The irony is that gamers DO LIKE fictional characters assetts. 12-13 years ago Lara Croft created a phenomena because of her boobs. And even today game creators keep making their female characters sexy in some way. Yet it's taboo to discuss it. Yes, you can mention it. But not discuss it. Still, it's perfectly fine to have endless discussions about fictional characters relationships.
I want to know why I'm left out. To me, it seems like a lot of hypocrisy.
