Smash Wii U Why Can I Not Find a GameCube Adapter?!?

I bought Samsh Wii U from GameStop and the guy said no GameStops in my whole city have it. Then today I called Best Buy and they said they had them and when I got there they only had controllers. The dude even tried to tell me "everything I needed was in the box". Then I went to Wal-Mart and they had none. I can't find it anywhere!

From what I have heard, the amount of demand for the adapters surpassed the amount that was sent to the US (since Nintendo is a Japanese company). So, the retailers have to go order more from the producers, but of course shipping takes a while. This may not be correct, but it think its a logical reason.

Pretty sure it was released standalone in limited quantities.

GameStop said they may be getting a new shipment on Monday, so I'm just gonna wait for that.
Wait for this, ignore scalping third parties on ebay and amazon and wait for more in the retail price.

Gamestop told me it was Nintendo's fault and that the standalone adapters were delayed.

I called gamestop early to try and find out if they had adaptars and they told me they had extras.

I asked if i could preorder and they like "no our preorder time is over"

To get one i have to be one of the first in line around 12.

So i went there later and find out that they sold the last 2 non preordered ones around 9 oclock.....

How were they allowed to sell non preordered ones at nine? and none at gamestop told me they would start selling at nine.

Very unproffessional company, im glad i was able to get my adaptar the next day at different company. (walmart and best buy were almost as bad)

I'll be glad when gamestop goes out of business now, I'm glad i gave all my money to nintendo when i bought the game digitally and not a cent to gamestop, I'm glad that steam is replacing gamestop and everyone can get games digitally without having to support bad companies like gamestop.

buy your games digital, buy your games on steam or on nintendo site. easier better load times, don't support companies that don't care about the costumer.

My Gamestop got their shipment like 5 minutes before I went to pick it up.
Also, what's up with the title? "Why cannot I not..."?

Hey, at least you didn't pre-order the Smash adapter bundle from Best Buy two weeks in advance, and then show up on launch day to find they didn't have it.

I agree. However, GameStop is so close to my house, so its easiest to go there. Also, when I was younger I sold like 10 pretty good games to them and got $7. They completely f**ked me and I didn't realize it at the time. Lesson: NEVER SELL ANYTHING TO GAMESTOP

You could try buying one from a PAL region and have it shipped over. Supposedly they are not region locked (but the game is of cause).

Did you not preorder them? Every single adapter that arrived at my local Gamestop stores went strictly to preorders. Thankfully, I reserved two of them months ago.
