What’s the deal with event tournaments anyways, why are they so bad?
Take the latest example- Kirby vs DK series. LITERALLY ALL IT IS is the usual 4 player smash tournament, but you are limited to a Kirby or DK series character, on a Kirby or DK stage. WHOOP DEE DO! WHO CARES. There is no Kirby “vs” DK , the tournament should be called Kirby AND DK characters only but otherwise the usual crud.
Who thinks up these tournaments? Nintendo needs to fire whoever it is. Right off the top of my head I can think of something way more interesting- squaring off squads of three Kirby players vs three DK players on big battle field. The winning squad would then advance to semi finals or straight to finals depending on player pool. At that point you might play a Kirby vs Kirby or DK vs DK, depending on who won round 1.
Or have round 1 be a DK vs DK on one side (west side) and Kirby squads on the east, where the best DK and Kibys clash for the crown.
You see that would actually be interesting and fun. Is that too much to ask, Nintendo?
