I never got into online Brawl (I literally played about 20 matches total) and I only played with my friends

So, I'm wondering, who was the most common character to see online? Who was considered the "best" to use?

Offline? Metaknight.

Meta Knight, there is no real other answer. Meta Knight is the only character in any game I would consider to be super OP and above everyone else, either online or offline.
