Who should be my secondary character?

As we all know, Lucas is just Hax, however I want to get a secondary character just in case I get someone that naturally is difficult for lucas, who should I choose. I was thinking dedede because I want someone not like lucas, or maybe diddy kong?

It's always good to pick someone that complements your character's weaknesses. Find characters you can't beat easily with lucas, and then find someone to beat them with.

Since I don't magically know everything just yet, I'm not gonna guess and tell you who you should second, so do what you want.

Lucas is my Secondary Main and my only other main besides Marth, who I main first but I will probably main them both evenly so I can be perfect with them both.

You want someone heavy. Lucas has the disadvantage of being a light character, which does not bode well when he is up against, say, a fsmashy Marth. You want to be able to pull out the heavy character and be able to eat a few of the Marth's fair->fsmash combos without having to figure out how to recover without getting countered.

3D or Ike, possibly Donkey Kong? Donkey Kong would be fun, I wonder how his metagame is coming along...

I like the donkey kong suggestion, I haven't had time to play as him but if he is as fast as he was in melee for a heavy then i suggest him. Me personally, I use marth like almost everyone else lol.

Ive been practicing with dedede, I like the way he feels and the fact that he can puff jump. I think I might main him as well as lucas. Ive seen some vids of DDD players and they're like brick walls.

Being a Lucas user myself I came to this problem too. I chose someone who complmented my playing style. Lucas is the long-ranged threat so I needed someone who could get up close to our opponent and rack up the damage while I stood from a slight distance and put his lethal projectiles to work. I found that Meta-Knight and Ike were the best. I prefer Ike, however.

My secondary character is Marth. He is fast, has much better air control, and can reverse nearly any situation with counter attacks.

Pokemon Trainer might be a more practical secondary character since he is so versatile.

I should think about that too. I may use Marth since I mained him in Melee but I kinda want to use a new character and I think he got nerfed a little. I know his speed did.

Heck, I know it's not what you asked for, but if you can pull off a convincing Ness and have a COMPLETELY different playstyle to Lucas, than that might be enough to throw your opponent for a loop if they were beating your Lucas around. There's not a whole lot of players out here who really can play against both Ness and Lucas without treating them as the same opponent (the ones who know better, as much as this board would lead you to believe, are much rarer)
