Basically the same exact thing I did last time but this time the game is released, so I think we can all safely answer.

There isn't a "weakest" or "strongest"...
Every character has their advantages and disadvantages. There's no Meta Knight or Ganondorf this time around. :l

This is what I get from watching so yeah, it's much more balanced this time around!

There are some characters that get more play and seem a bit stronger than the rest, but even that could change with time.

That sounds pretty sweet. I'm psyched to learn all the matchups now.

If I absolutely had to pick sheik is probably the best and zelda the worst.

But really, the game is so well balanced that the question doesn't really have any weight. I'd argue that at least half of the cast will be viable.

xD You know what's funny? Zelda and Shiek are the same person....so saying one of them is the best while the other is the worst...it practically means the character is balanced.

..wut?

Right now I think Sheik is one of the best and the worst is megaman. He doesn't have enough kill power, can't combo well, his recovery isn't the best, and he doesn't seem to be able to pressure while at the same time can't keep people away so he could zone.

He doesn't excel in any field and he sucks in a lot of places.

There's really no such thing as "who's the strongest" nor "who's the weakest" of the fighters in the game, or the Smash Bros. series as a whole. It's all based on how well you play as that fighter. Every one of them should be treated equally whether you like him/her or not.

I think nintendo does a good job balancing the character. It's hard to say who is the strongest and weakest character alone. I think that a better question is , who is strongest against who, and who is weakest against who. My 2 cents

However in a competitive environment it can become pretty clear that some characters are much better and stronger then others. In melee fox was the best, he had the most potential and had a lot of great match ups while Zelda was consider one of the worst, in brawl meta knight was the best, he had the most potential and had a lot of great match ups while Zelda was consider one of the worst.

Hopefully Zelda wont be bad in smash4 but I doubt you will find anyone wiling to say she above mid tier.

I'm super offended at Zelda being called the worse... Can we all just say that even if there is a Worse, It doesn't mean much because they are all somewhat really close?

I think DHD with someone extremely skilled will be flatout broken. Same with Shulk.

As for weakest... Uhhhhhh... Probably Megaman. Every single character I've seen on stream that people have disliked at first has more or less redeemed themself as they played them (Ganondorf and Ike to mention a couple). However Megaman seems to be considered bad by everyone but the fanatics who like his character so much they want to try and find a breakthrough. His best redeeming feature is his Rush cancel.

Duckhunt and Rosalina are kinda strong I'd have to say. If you don't send Luma away he always acts like a shield and his attacks even override most of the other fighters attacks, not to mention Rosalina her normal spam A attack normally kills my Peach when Im at ~85%. Duckhunt has superior range on his moves and hes ranged attacks are really strong aswell and can easily KO.

Its just so hard to beat those two characters when the player is good with them, when I find myself fighting good players with other character I win every now and then but when those two character comes its like you can't do anything...

Goku ... sorry, couldn't resist. But if this is about the tiers again, then I would have to say that it's too early to determine that. I mean it's only been about 6 days since the JP release. If we're talking about damage and KO potential though, Little Mac would probably be the strongest, with his KO bar.

Remember, it took a while before Metaknight got put on watch.

I'm glad it doesn't seem like there's a MASSIVE standout who's just destroying everyone, and match ups have the chance of changing as the meta evolves, especially with custom moves and such.

From what I've seen, the game is incredibly balanced compared to Brawl. Every character has its pros and cons, but there doesnt seem to be a COMPLETELY op character, just some that are slightly better then others.

If the characters all seem to be balanced, I'd be interested to see how tiering them goes.

The character's in this game are amazingly well balanced to the point that finding the most powerful and weakest will be very difficult indeed. There isn't going to be a huge divide like Brawl's tier lists in terms of who completely dominates and who sucks. Honestly, I'm just stoked that almost every character in the game, if not every character, is competitively viable and is so well balanced. It will allow me to enjoy each character that much more. ^_^

From what I've seen in the live streams, I feel Bowser seems to be pretty strong with a lot of his movesets giving him a greater KO potential at somewhat low percentages. They definitely buffed up Bowser compared to his Melee and Brawl days.

Well, it's not wise to make tiers just yet because they are like a "picture", a gathering of tournaments data of an especific time frame and later arrangement. They aren't something you just come to the conclusion from watching youtube videos. If there isn't enough data, there's no point of making one, we need to wait so we can have every bit we need to make the "picture".

Even though it's only been a week, I'll throw in a vote for Duck Hunt as the strongest due to his insane camping potential game that people have yet to figure out how to break and Little Mac for the worst considering his off-stage game is pretty non-existent, and I think a strong off-stage game is going to be important in a game where people are able to live until 150%.

I think my opinion might be skewed from watching ZeRo so much, but Sheik looks amazing. She seems to outclass so many characters in her air-game and attack speed and if you can't keep up with her on those fronts, you're gonna get absolutely decimated.

Also, based off early impressions, I think Palutena looks awful, which pains me to say 'cause I think she's awesome.

strongest so far imo

Bowser, powerful attacks, especially bair, can easily slay players as early as 50%
Duck Hunt Powerful zoning, easily kills with it
Captain Falcon humongus buff from brawl, easymode comboes and raptor boost(forward B) kills easily. extremely good jab as well.
Sheik insane comboes, and kill potential, really lacks in the range department, esp on the tilts and fair.
