Thats 20 Characters... and who said Snake was going to unlockable... if they were going to show unlockables wouldn't we have seen Luigi yet? We have a even number of characters and i think the rest of updates are going to be Items, Final Smashes, Special Moves, Stages, Music, Techniques, ATs, How to play and Game modes. There is going to be 50 more updates, 51 if you count Monday December 3rd. So what do you guys think?

Take out Metaknight and Snake and the list is good. Sakurai himself said that third party characters would be unlockable, and looking at Metaknight's ship in the Subspace thing, I think he is an unlockable.

C.Falcon was a Unlcokable in Smash Bros... and i dono about ness people are saying hes going to get replaced by Lucas so... but like i said if they were showing unlcokables wouldnt of luigi already been on the site?

well he can't go more than 2 months without character updates, and I don't think he'd show unlockables, so I'll disagree with you there. Also we have way more than 50 or 51 updates left because we will see a decent amount of double and triple update days.

And where the f did Sakurai say all 3rd partys will be unlockables... and why does metanight have to be unlockable because of single player mode?

You've got it wrong. If Luigi sees his shadow, then that's 6 more weeks until they show unlockables.

Snake is going to be unlockable, as I doubt Sakurai would change his mind about it. It just doesn't seem like something he'd do.

I honestly don't know what this means for the characters he's going to reveal from now on. He'll probably keep with starters for a while, Snake is just special because everyone already knew he was going to be in the game.

Still, it kind of surprised me to see his update. XD

Is this kind of topic going to be made every time a new character is revealed? When the Ice Climbers were revealed, and then the Wi-Fi update, "Durr, well I guess those are all the starters!" Is it really hard to believe that a third party guest such as Snake will actually be an unlockable character? And I think Metaknight will be an unlockable character because of the presence of his ship in the adventure mode. He seems to be on the villain side, and to me it'd make sense that after defeating him in Adventure mode, you'd unlock him. Seeing how they took so long to reveal Metaknight and Snake on the site, I'm positive in my feeling that those two are unlockable.

If Snake is unlockable, then we've seen the entire starting roster already. I've been playing video games my whole life, and I've never seen any game ever where they started revealing hidden characters before they showed all of the starting characters.

That really means nothing as Sakurai may have his own way of doing updates. Besides as I said earlier, Snake is special... we'd already seen him! This doesn't mean that character updates from now on will be unlockable... Nor does it mean that Sakurai changed his mind with Snake.

Also I seriously doubt they will all return. Sakurai knows better then to give Dr. Mario and Pichu a spot, at least.

Sakurai said Snake was unlockable. And you counted zero suit Samus as her own character. She's part of Samus. So we really only have 19 on the site. I'm expecting at least one more starter. Maybe more but 20 would be a pretty good number. I bet it's Captain Falcon

How many fighting games have done this kinda of thing? Where they have daily updates? And Snake could be an exception. We already know he's in he's was in the first trailer. Not updating him till after release, even though he's one of the biggest chars is stupid.

From a business perspective Sakurai chose the perfect time. to reveal Snake. TGS hyped up MGS 4 a lot so showing a bunch of MGS stuff now makes sense. The only time that'd work out better would be when MGS 4 comes out, but thats not till next year.

You're all wrong, he never once said Snake would be hidden for 100% certain. He said something like "I think guest characters, like Snake, may be better suited as hidden characters." I remember reading it, and it was something along those lines.

That doesn't mean Snake is hidden. I'm just saying it's not 100% certain. If Snake is hidden, then that means that we've already seen the whole starting roster. That's very possible. I think that Snake is a starting character though, because I think that Sakurai will tell us when he starts showing hidden characters.

Now you're just making assumptions... This doesn't mean that the whole starting roster has been shown. It just means that Sakurai decided to show Snake, since you know we did find out about him being in the game over a year ago.

Really, if there's anybody's words we can go by, it's Sakurai's. If he said it, which he did, it means it's the truth. If you honestly think that every character is going to return you are setting yourself up for disappointment. If you honestly think that Snake isn't going to be unlockable you're just... well, not right.

Read this topic. There's no "I thinks" there's just statements.

None of you can produce the exact quote either, so what makes your versions of what he supposedly said more valid then mine? I can't remember exactly how he said it, but I know that the gists of it was that he was considering making 3rd parties hidden, because he felt it woyld be more suitable for them to be hidden characters. He didn't say "Snake's a hidden character." Which is what you guys all want to believe.

And I still say it's odd that, if Snake is a hidden character, nothing was mentioned about him being a hidden character in his update. Maybe that will come later when they show how to unlock him, if he's even hidden. Who knows?

I don't think I know everything, trust me on that. I wouldn't be holding it as the truth and going around saying it if Sakurai hadn't said it himself. He DID say that not all characters will return, and he also said that Snake and the other 3rd party "guest" characters will be unlockable, not that he's thinking about it.

It's true on the "not every character will return", it's just assumptions on who won't return... However I just really can't see Pichu and Dr. Mario returning... :/

That sounds reasonable, but it's possible that any of those twenty characters could turn out to be unlockable. Still, twenty starting characters seems pretty good, considering there might be 35+ in total.

Jigglypuff AND Luigi had to be unlocked TWICE in both SSB and SSBM, so it wasn't a big surprise since people were expecting them to be back. IN this case, some characters might not return, so there is that factor. But, he might reveal as many as he wants. Plus, the starting roster could be beyond 20 for all we know.

Okay first of all... All of you ppl need to stop thinking everything sakurai said is 100% true... He said he would not include ice climbers, game and watch, or any japan only characters... Umm lets see... Ice Climbers... Confirmed.... Game & Watch Soming Back... (Wel thats what the icon thing ses... cause gameand watch would fit as 13...) And i think Ike is Japan only (idk, i dont play FE)... And well... On the old site... (Be4 he changed it) it said he would NOT put any spoilers on the updated site... And what are unlockables? SPOILERS!!! You ppl need to pull urselves together... Think about this.. Sakurai needs to give everyone a ginal smash... Needs more AT's, Items, Pokeballs, Special moves...
