Who else preordered a smash gamecube controller from Amazon?

I just got an email from Amazon the other day telling me that they expect my controller to arrive around January 5th-6th.
Doesn't that seem like quite a long shot from the release of the game? I would hope that it is a placeholder date, but we're literally less than a month away from launch so you would think that these dates would start solidifying.
It's not the end of the world, but I was hoping to have the extra controller closer to the launch of Smash, especially now that we know about 8-player smash, haha

Since I'm not sure where to ask and I don't want to make a thread, this seems the appropriate place for me to pose a question as well.

Has it been revealed which retailers will have the GCN controller adapters available right on the 21st? Obviously GameStop, but I'm more referring to places I know will be open at midnight and stocked with the game, such as Wal-Mart. I was thinking of downloading the game (Smash 3DS was available an hour early for me) but since I'd rather have the adapter from the get-go, a physical copy may not be out of the question.

I don't think my GameStops are doing a midnight release, and ordering the controller+bundle+game adapter and hoping it arrives early seems like a long shot.

I only know of Gamestop. I need to ask around.

I emailed Amazon about my Smash GC Controllers and adapter only having a placeholder date of Dec. 31st, 2014, and was replied to and told that they're aware of the error and have it being fixed. Ironically, 5 min later, Amazon sent me an email that said my estimated delivery for these items are Jan. 6th - 9th of 2016. So if it's not fixed soon, I might just preorder elsewhere.
