So I go to a bi-weekly almost every time and I do not really care if I win or not, I see it as a fun day to play the game you love and learn from more players. Once knocked out, you can play friendlies and those are my favorites.

How do you feel?

Why do YOU go to tournaments?

I think most smash players know where they stand in the grand scheme, and can pretty much size up their odds when entering a local. (Not even going to mention nationals, because y'know ...lolglhf)

So yeah, I'd say the vast majority don't walk into a tournament with the intention of winning. It goes without saying though that the longer you stay in the tournament, the more games you play, so the "fun" aspect is an incentive to keep winning your matches. When I go to tournaments, I try to beat my own personal win-loss record every time.

exactly, my goal is to win a set, then to win 2 sets, then to just keep moving up
