which would people prefer?

my brother is thinking about running two smash tournaments in the same day for a play n trade tournament, hes trying to figure out which would get more people

a brawl singles tournament and melees single tournament in the same day (no doubles)

a brawl singles and doubles tournament in the same day (no melee)

so, which you think would be more popular/ the better choice?

Brawl singles and doubels would probably work better.

With singles of two different events, it would be kind of odd. You'd have more people in one venue (some would go only for brawl singles, some would go only for melee singles) and more people just taking up space.

With Brawl Singles and Doubles, most everyone would enter both, and there'd be less people in the venue total. Also, it's easier for players to transfer between tournaments of the same game, rather than play Brawl Singles, then play Melee Singles and have to get used to it.

Melee singles and brawl singles. Not everyone who plays singles will also play in doubles. Singles are just a little more fun to watch/compete.
