Which rumor/leak was the most convincing when you first saw it?

Rayman leak: There was a video on the Nintendo of Canada showcasing the half-finished roster. A guy named Matt (who works for the marketing) said "Rayman and a bunch of other characters are available." This obviously caused quite a lot of uproar. It was decomfirmed I think 2 days later, but during the time. It was believed to be real.

Ridley and Bandana Dee trailer leak: My memory is very fuzzy on this one, but it was very famous on gamefaqs for like 4 days. So someone posted a link to a page about some guy saying that Ridley and Bandana Dee are characters in the game, and the only proof he has is the trailers for them, but he didn't have the trailers. He instead claimed he "saw" them and described what happened in the trailers. That post is months old, so I can't get a link to it. Sorry.

Edit: I didn't add the ESRB leak, because it had very convincing real in-game footage, and everyone would vote for it.

ESRB was the most convincing leak by far. I haven't been "convinced" by any other leak until now, but the Rayman leak from yesterday got me really excited, yet didn't convince me before the guy admitted to it.

Yeah, of course, Mario is the character that I first pick up in nearly every game that he is playable in, Smash Bros is also no exception, as you see my see even though I also main a lot of characters, but Mario will be the one that I am confident using online, runner-up is Toon Link.

Not only it's the most convincing before game release, it's confirmed. But when I saw it, I think the roster is really ridiculous, not only it adds two more Mario character (One is my most unwanted character in to be Smash and one is a clone...), the biggest reason why I used to think it's fake was Duck Hunt, it was really hard to believe that Duck Hunt will be in Smash bros...

That old Palutena screenshot was pretty darn convincing, but I didn't ever fully think it was for real. Dunno if that was ever proved to be a real leak or not.

The newest Rayman leak was also an "almost" for me. Everything was simply flawless even though there was something about the character art that bothered me. It got me to the point I could say "I don't know if this is real or fake, it could go either way."

ESRB roster leak? I didn't buy it either. Not until the gameplay footage, at least. There simply had been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many fake CSS before that point, and this one didn't even seem difficult to create. The one thing it had going for it were the original character renders, but as was proven with the Rayman leak, it's perfectly possible for a good artist to do. Gameplay convinced me instantly, though.

Gematsu? I never believed it and got sick of hearing about it and how every single new detail apparently further confirmed it.

Everything else is not even worth mentioning in my opinion, it either lacked evidence, or was easy to forge.

That leak yesterday looked more convincing than the ESRB one for me. There was no flaw on Rayman to suggest he doesn't fit in with the rest of the cast. Several characters in that ESRB leak looked like tweaked versions of existing images and duck hunt duo's art style doesn't even fit the rest of the cast.

The person who smashified Rayman should be hired to do these CGI art models. At least then he can be paid for his fine work.

You know, when I look back at every leak I saw. I generally believed none of them. I didn't believe the leak with Wii Fit. I didn't believe the ESRB leak until Shulk was announced and I didn't believe the Rayman leak. They all just screamed fake at me (Even though the ESRB leak turned out to be real).

But, If I had to choose the most "convincing" one I would choose Rayman. A lot of work and effort was put into that leak. I still didn't believe it but the video kind of had me on the edge.
I didn't believe the ESRB leak because of how bland the CSS looked. It looked like there wasn't much effort put into it. Sadly it was the real CSS.

I don't buy into leaks. You save yourself the trouble of disappointment if you doubt everything.
Even with this recent rayman leaks, people bought into it simply because the art couldn't be traced (among other things like the guy scrolling through the characters). ESRB became irrefutable once he provided gameplay footage that couldn't be faked, even with brawl mods.

Well since the ESRB leak turned out to be the real deal, the most convincing would have to be the latest Rayman leak from over the weekend.

I'd be surprised if anyone actually said the Gematsu leak was more convincing.

Rayman and Mewtwo leak was convincing alone with just what it had. I wasn't convinced till the gameplay videos of the ERSB leak. As for the Gematsu leak, I was convinced it was real till the Robin reveal(Getting Palutena and Mii Fighters exactly right just before their reveal? That sold it for me. Not that I wanted Chrom, but still.) showed it wasn't the full truth. I still think Shulk would've been in.
