This thread is more about what area's is the Edge Pivot Dash better than the Perfect Pivot and what area's the Perfect Pivot is better than the Edge Pivot Dash. The Area's that will be covered will be Spacing, Movement and whatever you want to point out that the Edge Pivot Dash does better than the perfect pivot or the opposite.

Seeing as they're both situational maneuvers, efficiency is determined by appropriate usage. I haven't really seen much usage of either of them so far, myself, so it's hard to call at this point.

In terms of difficulty, Pivot Slide (Edge Pivot Dash) is much easier to do since it doesn't require near-perfect frame input. Furthermore, the slide's range is adjustable.

But, as with any tech, there isn't really a better or worse tech. It's a matter of finding which situations are suited for either tech.

That "edge pivot dash" has far less uses than a perfect pivot. Not only that, it's slower, telegraphed, and thusly more easy to punish. I doubt there will be much use of it in high level play

A lot of diddy mains and Kirby mains use it in competitive play. Not only is it for attacking, but for grabbing and spot dodging (also the range is the same since certain character don't even need the edge at all!). They said wave dashing took a long start up before players mastered it. I think it has a chance.
