Which controllers/adapters for PC?

All right, this is literally my first ever Smashboards post, so if this is in the wrong forum or I make some terrible etiquette mistake, please don't be too harsh.

I've played Melee on my Mac with an Xbox 360 controller for about a year and a half. I have now decided to make the sensible choice and switch to a PC with a GameCube controller. However, I'm not quite sure which seller I should buy a controller and GC-to-USB adapter from. The official Nintendo adapters sell for about $30 used on Amazon, and used controllers for about $20 each. This seems like a lot to me, so I started exploring third-party options, but couldn't fine options with consistent positive reviews. Does anybody here have any suggestions?

Also, I'm using a Dell XPS13 laptop with Windows 10.

The Mayflash adapter also works well for Dolphin, and I'm not sure where the best place is to buy controllers atm but you pretty much have to go for used Nintendo ones. The third party ones are horrific
