not sure if this has been asked yet, but where were all the Japanese players (Otori, Kakera, 9B, Mikeneko, Rain, etc.)? The only one that was there was Shogun.

3 Japanese players came for Brawl (Shogun, Shimitake, and Ayuha), but only Shogun made it to bracket.not sure if this has been asked yet, but where were all the Japanese players (Otori, Kakera, 9B, Mikeneko, Rain, etc.)? The only one that was there was Shogun.
aMSa, haha. He played incredible this tournament, but it was a shame he couldn't break Top 8.Almost none of them made it out. It's a shame but travelling isn't exactly cheap. Also some of them have quit as well.
And I agree with the above poster. Because of this and no Armada in Melee singles, it's really feeling like just another big tournament for Melee and Brawl rather than an Apex. Only thing that has made me feel this is a more special event is Project Melee and Ohmza (spelling?), the Japanese Melee Yoshi player who got 9th. It it weren't for those, I'd easily believe this was a regular Smash major.
