Where to begin?

So I'm finally going to get into this game. I have all this knowledge of it, but no skill. So my question is this where do I start? Like I'm going to start maining Falco, but I don't know where to start. To start on shining or like wave dashing? I'm really lost.

I think the basic tech skill guide by mookie rah has a pretty good order and goes over some things that newcomers often forget to practice on their own like tilting.

L cancelling and wavedashing are going to be 2 of the most important things to get down consistently, especially as Falco. I'd say start with L cancels, then once you have that semi-mastered, move onto wavedashing. Being able to short hop consistently is very important as well, so you can SHFFL and laser. Don't worry about learning a lot of things at once, that can be extremely overwhelming and then you'll get nowhere.

L-cancelling and wavedashing are great places to start, as stated above, but don't be scared to jump right in to practicing any advanced stuff you know of from reading the boards/youtube.
