Where do I go to get good competition to get better?

My brother only cares about joke matches, and I'm not good enough to compete in For Glory. All of my Smasher friends only play Melee. How can I get some competition?

Quite bluntly, get good enough for For Glory. That's pretty much the shallow end of competitive play and you will need to be able to hold your in in that particular mode if you wish to progress further competitively.

I'd suggest talking to people here and asking to set up friendly sparring matches. I'm available if you want to play, I love helping people improve~

This. Smashladder.com is a great place for meeting people of many different skill levels, you get to play on more than just final destination reskins, and you generally run less of a risk of being matched up with someone laggy.

I think there's also nintendodojo.com, but I've generally just stuck to smashladder.
