Where are settings stored?

I'm wondering if it would be possible to modifying something to change the default aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9. Also I want to look at the default setting for items on or off. Where are these settings found in the game files and how can I modify them?

The default aspect ratio setting is tied to whatever aspect ratio the console is set to. Item settings are also stored to your save file and don't reset like the time and stock settings do.

I don't believe this is the case. What I'm wondering is what the game picks as the default setting before a save file is created.

Time, stock, and all those things are controlled by the GCT.
This makes much more sense. Is there any way I can get gct codes for changing these settings? Where can I learn how to make these or obtain these?

Whichever one the console is set to. The Wii system has it's own setting for aspect ratio which is what most games use to determine what it needs to be on. Brawl just has it's own internal option in case anyone wanted it, but it pulls from the console's settings first by default.

The default setting for items is Medium with every item switched on.

He's asking for dolphin, so we don't have to adjust the settings erry time.

Would be awesome

And even if it's taken from the console, there's got to be a point where it passes the info along to the game. Or a default value if one is not transferred correctly.

There should be a way to hard code it to 16:9 instead of 4:3

I had spoke to a PMBR member about this before and they said 4:3 is the default because of the competitive scene using CRTs which leads me to believe it's possible to change.

As for items, game mode (stock), game time limit, ect is already controlled by the gct so items should be able to be changed too.
