When will we get a release date?

As winter approaches we still do not have a release date. I understand that they would like to wait to hype it up right before it comes out, i feel like we knew everything about MK8 way before it came out which took away from the game. However, with the 3DS version coming out in about 2 weeks, they have to announce it soon, don't they?

Last week i got the art covers of the new games that should be used in Presale art, including games like Bayonetta, Hyrule warriors and SMASH4.

Hyrule warriors is listed for sept, Bayonetta for Oct if not wrong... and the Smash4 release is listed for November.

Think of that what you will.

November would be ideal from a sales perspective, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it in December. I'm sure we'll get the info in the next worldwide Direct.

I'm sure the date will be revealed shortly, but probably not until after at least the release of the game in Japan. While I'd be inclined to think they'd want to wait to announce it after the release in other regions as well, with a rumored date of the end of November, announcing the date in early October might be a bit late, although still doable.

I think they'll wait a couple weeks after the 3ds versions so they get the sales in. I'm actually expecting a small gap between the two release dates so it wouldn't be wise to show the wii U release date as it might cause people to wait for that instead.

This seems to make sense. They'd be cannibalizing their own sales otherwise. I imagine it coming around late November (mid December at the latest). My heart won't be able to take it if it's pushed to 2015.

A November release close to Black Friday would boost Wii U sales, in my honest opinion.

This seems the more logical date in the West, assuming Japan gets it first again.

Yeah, not gonna happen before 3DS version is out in every region. My guess is that the game it self will come out mid-november.

This is probably the best bet right now. There has been an increasing amount of retailers / rumours that have pointed toward November 21st being a potential release date for the Wii U version.

It's not concrete mind you, but it's probably the best lead we're going to get until Nintendo makes an announcement stating otherwise. That being said, I could really see the rumours being true, since November 21st is (I think) the week before Black Friday. It would certainly be wise for Nintendo to do this, seeing as it'd be a superb way of sending consoles off the shelves as Sm4sh bundles for Black Friday and the weeks following until Christmas.

I'm pretty sure that the moment when people start their Christmas shopping is Black Friday. Which is in November.


We could get a December release. "Winter 2014" could imply a long wait. But late November is a strong possibility too.
