Smash Apprentice
From time to time I see a new thread be created and it seems that a third of the time it's someone who to the boards or someone who hasn't really made any posts. Then after maybe one or two responds (if lucky) the thread turns into a hate fest.
"O to the M to the G, this thread again? For serious?"
"Do scrubs reallllly have to make a new thread every time they have a question or comment about something that anyone who has been playing or lurking the boards should already know."
For one, if it is a "scrub" or someone new to the boards, what did you expect? Sure, if there's an existing thread for it, redirect them without coming off as a complete ****. If you're not a mod, you don't need to express how the thread needs to be closed or etc. We have people for that, and you're obviously not one of them. If anything, wasting time posting about it is spam in itself, so you're no better than the "scrub" posting a thread that shouldn't exist. And to top it off, you're just making yourself look like an *** if you don't at least redirect the person to the existing thread.
Either do this or don't do anything at all. Seriously. It's just rude![Frown :( :(](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Aside from threads closing because another thread already exists, there are times where people are pricks about what people are asking or commenting about. Why? Is it cause it's stuff that wouldn't be relative to people who have been here longer than even a month?
So what.
Don't bash on them for not knowing anything. At schools, students are pressured to ask questions that they shouldn't normally have to if they were A students. These boards aren't any different. It takes confidence to have to speak to the void known as the smash boards, give them a break.
"But it happens soooo much bleh.."
These boards aren't so flooded that it's such a problem. Sure for a mod, it can be annoying to have to deal with, but that's your job. Not saying you guys aren't doing your job because from what I can see, you guys are doing great jobs, but people browsing these boards shouldn't have to feel like they're walking on egg shells.
This is NOT how we get more people to play brawl.
This attitude just makes the community look bad.
