Smash Wii U What's up with the trophy gallery?

Maybe I'm just missing something obvious, but I can't seem to zoom in/out, or get the trophies in fullscreen, or change the background while on the trophy gallery.

I really can't believe they took those features out, as they've been a Smash staple since Melee, and are even on the 3DS version. But no matter what buttons I press, the only thing I can do is rotating trophies with the right stick, which is kinda boring.

Am I doing something wrong, or are you really unable to do anything but rotating trophies on the gallery?

I don't know what button it was, but I was messing around in there earlier yesterday and I know for sure you can change the background. I'm sure that the other stuff can be done as well, but I haven't looked at it in too much depth.

You can change the backgrounds by pressing the start button, or the + button. The Y and X buttons can zoom in/out, while the Control Stick rotates the trophy. Directional Pad simply moves the trophy around.

Ya sure? Cause D-Pad's just switching to the next/previous trophy, X is switching to the trophy box, and X and start are doing nothing.

Maybe I just have to use a controller other than Gamecube?

It may be the controller. I personally use the Game Pad, and I went back in there earlier to check it out again out of curiosity. You can change the background with + and zoom in / out with X and Y, definitely.

Well, talk about being a moron.

Turns out I can't press A to enter the fullscreen mode with all the usual features if I rotate the trophy a little bit first. The trophy has to be in that "slideshow" mode where it rotates automatically for it to work.

I have no idea why I was doing that every single time. It does seem a bit counter-intuitive, but I can't believe it took me so long to notice, haha.

Guess this thread's useless now.
