what's up with metroid in japan?

i just want to know... why is metroid doing so poorly in japan?, i mean, why is it doing so much worse than zelda?, there both quite similar, so what gives?

Japanese like rpg's more, and fps' not so much, and Metroid's closer to an FPS, the same way Zelda's closer to an RPG.

Good question bro. I haven't the slightest clue to way Japan doesn't favor Metroid. Maybe cause it's kinda Americanized.........ah I don't know. I'll have to do some research.

it's great to be back online..... my PC was down for about 8 months

well mic already gave a good awnser, but why are the platform metroids doing so bad?, don't tell me they don't like those either!

I guess it's really difficult for Retro Studios to impress the Japanese public. Meh, go figure.

Metroid Prime & 2 are such quality games.

samus will always be the runt of the litter when it comes to the main nintendo characters unfortunatly...

though it is my opinion that Super Metroid is the greatest video game of all time. period.
