What's the point?

Is there really any point to main anyone besides Marth/Falco/Fox/Sheik? Like don't get me wrong I love playing as all the characters, but like everyone that plays in top play 95 percent of the time it's just them. I mean I've seen players play as other characters but I have to literally type that character in example being Mewtwo. I main Ness/Young Link and I know they're not the greatest but I mean is there hope or should we all just main Fox? Not trying to start a war just seeing the opnions.

You're forgetting the other 4 of the tournament viable 8. Character choice is a matter of utility and preference. Players want to be able to do things well so they tend to choose characters with the best tools. But they also choose those with tools that fit them. 8 characters is enough to help cover most people's needs. It's still possible to with with a nonviable, it's just more difficult. Axe and Amsa have placed at top level with Pikachu and Yoshi, respectively

Ness and Young Link are pretty low on the tier list so you're going to have a difficult time

I know there are top players in some of the other lower characters but sometimes it's a drag you know?

I can see that, like a secondary. Like Armada and Fox right?

In my opinion, low tiers are cool and all but if you really want to accomplish anything with this game you need to pick one of the top 4 or 5. I get what you're saying though, being able to play Ness at a high level and actually win would be the ****, but we just gotta deal.
