I'm working on a hack for smashville utilizing the background of Mewtwo2000's Fourside hack. It looks great in brawlbox but when I get to the actual game, the buildings don't even show up and there's a black box in the middle of the stage (no collision) that has a random texture (one of the ones I used) on it. Sometimes it just freezes.

Is it something to do with the misc/scene data? I replaced some of the model data directly from the original fourside hack (looking at other smashvillage background replacements as a source, I saw that Model Data 0 needs to be replaced) but it still fails. Are the two just not compatible?

p.s. I don't add the models in one at a time like in WackaAlpaca's tutorial. I import the model data all at once and delete the models I don't need. Same as with the textures. Should I be adding them in one at a time?

And what it looks like in game
WOW @_@

That background goes so far beyond any "minor" errors I've ever seen. That is one big error... I don't even know what happened.

The thing in the middle looks like it could be one of the background buildings that's not in the right place because it's missing an animation. I'm not sure though.

I suspect that something got messed up because you replaced the modeldata instead of adding its contents individually. But it's hard to tell since I'm not sure what you replaced specifically. I'll go take a look at the .pacs for Smashville and Fourside and see if I can figure anything out.

My god
O_o
That's the king of all errors.
I'd ask Mewtwo to take a look at it.

oh wow, maybe you're right about the animation data, i'll have to try that.
I got rid of the animation data because I thought it controlled the platforms, UFO, and other stuff (which I removed from the background). I figured the background was stationary but maybe that's it.

and this the first time i've ever tried anything like this so i fail lul

actually, maybe it might have to deal with the stage positioning model on mewtwo's hack

edit: omg yea that was it! some of the stuff is still messed up but I think it has to do with palettes. just gotta leave the animation data in. THANK YOU HOTDOGTURTLE!

final edit: THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WORKED :D :D :D

Oh yeah, I forgot to check those things I said I was gonna do. Then I left to play Brawl and later look on BrawlVault. I saw this on the newly added page and saw my name, and I was like "wait, I helped?"

So yeah, you're welcome I guess. Glad you got it working.
