I personally don't care for it, I think the Pro Controller is much better, why do so many people love these things? Imo, the shoulder buttons are terrible, maybe I got a bad controller but the Z button is way to stiff and overall the controller felt bad.

What @ Munomario777 Munomario777 said.

On top of nostalgia, muscle memory. Having a c-stick ABOVE my jump buttons feels extremely wrong to me. If I'm using the Pro Controller, I basically never c-stick. If I'm using the Gamecube controller, I use it all the time.

Yea, I guess that is where I feel the exact opposite, the Pro controller just feels right for me, I missed way to many inputs on a GameCube controller because of muscle memory.

Everyone has a preference. And after using a controller for a hundred hours you get attached to it. I'm starting to lean towards the 3DS as a controller myself, even though the lack of a second stick is a noticeable drawback.

These kinds of threads quickly become flame wars, and your question was answered, so I'm gonna have to lock it.

I love both the pro controller and gamecube, but for me, the analog sticks and buttons feel much better for Smash. Also wireless controllers have latency issues from time to time (Technically) although I've never seen it cause any issues in Smash 4. I use the pro controller for literally every other game on Wii U though.

Since I had no other option other than the Pro Controller when I got my Wii U, I learned to deal with it. I was so used to the GameCube controller, I hated every minute of it. Until I got used to it. Now short hop aerials are so much easier to perform.

I'm probably the only one,
but I use the Gamepad since I'm not really able to pick up any other controllers. It's an OK controller and I'm completely used to it by now.

first post sums it up beautifully.

I'm personally a wavebird user myself (the "original pro controller" some have dubbed it) and have received praise for being different AND flak for... I'm not even sure. works extremely well for me though. I love the gamecube controller but can't stand the cord or wrapping it up.

I even have 2 just in case those who don't BOYC for my sessions. The guest always loves it and never finds any lag

Following what DakotaBonez said earlier, this thread could result in a flame war if taken the wrong way. Therefore, it has been locked from further posting.
