Let's evaluate how close we are to 20XX shall we?
1. EMP Armada (Peach, Young Link)
2. C9 Mango (Fox)
3. CRS Hungrybox (Jigglypuff, Fox)
4. EMP Mew2King (Sheik, Marth)
5. Plup (Samus)
5. CT Wizzrobe
7. Fiction
7. Colbol
9. Blea Gelo
9. Lambchops
9. MOR ChuDat
Peach, YL, Fox, Jiggly, Sheik, Marth, Samus, Falcon, Luigi, Falco, ICs.
In top 11 we saw 11 Characters. Surprisingly enough Pikachu, Doc, Yoshi, and Ganon aren't even represented here.
Stop griping about how unbalanced the game is or how everyone is playing Fox. People are so quick to point out tournaments where top place finishers are Fox as if this is some new change, and then pick and choose some old tourneys from a couple years back where there was more character diversity in top placings to fit their argument. Well don't forget to ignore CEO2014 when you pick and choose tourneys for your future arguments.
All this whining about 20XX 'it's so sad because now everyone plays fox'. I don't know where you've been living the last 10 years but Fox has ALWAYS been an incredibly popular character, even before he was deemed to be top tier. I saw more people switch to Falco post-bombsoldier than switching to Fox in order to keep up with a 20XX metagame... Why is that? Probably because most of them were already playing Fox to begin with or just picked him up because they like to press buttons (or don't have players to play locally and want to practice tech skill).
