What would be the best way to encorporate wavedashing into my strategy?

I've just recently pretty much mastered wavedashing, and I really can't find any other good uses for it other than performing one and then grabbing (which is incredibly useful)...
What are some of the other good WD techniques I could try out?

well WD can vary depending on what character you use. If you char. has a good WD then you are going to be useing WD more ofton. I think that this topic would be better in a character specific forum. What chracter do you use anyway? Each character has a differn't use for WD. Perhaps I could help you more if you tell us your main.

Uh... WD = Luigi's movement

Never walk/run. Always WD or downb to get somewhere.

Marth, WD to fsmash = win

For Sheik, WD is best used for a mind game.

Those are specifics for each char but of course, WD to edgehog is applicable to all chars

If you've just learned to wavedash, you will find it hard to incorperate into your fights, even with luigi. during matches, try to use it as much as possible, and deliberately use it for combo starting, movement, grabs, everything. You will lose matches against your friends, but it helps you remember to wavedash during battles, and eventually you can try other combos with less wavedashing (although still many with, since you're luigi). Or, just practice in versus against a human without them playing, just learning different wavedash techniques. Practice new things, and if they seem to work, try them in real matches. Also, watch videos. The pros with luigi have mastered wavedash techniques and combos.

With luigi, definitely wavedash everywhere. It is quick and catches opponents by suprise quite often. Wavedashing is great for a quick edge hog. Just wave dash backwards and you grab onto the ledge.

Another use of wavedashing with any character is to rush at an opponent, then when you get close, wavedash backwards and they will probably do a move, leaving them open for an attack from you. Just keep wavedashing in your games and you will find the uses yourself also.

As the previous posters said, you basically want to wavedash as a movement considering WD'ing is one of luigi's strong points. Along with using it for movement, remember that the important part of wavedashing is that you are going in the forward direction but you can still execute combos as if you were in the nuetral position. Wavedash as an approach into SHFFL'd aerials or dsmash. Considering you are both wavedashing and approaching, you definately want to apply mindgames into your wavedash. Depending on the character you are playing, wavedash into shield and then grab(against high priority attackers) or wavedash into a grab(shield grabbers). Also wavedash in, out, and back in to draw out attacks and to stop your opponent from countering you. You can also use wavedashes to easily edgehog or to slide around platforms.

ive only been doing the wavedash for 2 days and havent been able to add it in anywhere because i cannot do it consistently but i think it would work well as bait. especially if you are playing a slower character then if they try and smash you and you wavedash, you can easily attack them while there wide open. i would like to add wavedash in with a grab since i am marth. for luigi you can play mindgames and wavedash then throw fireballs at them to piss thme off. on a side note if anyone can help, i see people saying wavedash then smash. do you smash while doing the wavedash or when it is complete?

if you are using luigi you should be doing it alot. Just keep playing and you definitely start to see when/where it is most effective. Also, just look for some videos of pros and see when they do it.

Luigi should only stop if he's doing an aerial. It's a constant thing for him.

Marth wavedashes to keep his opponents in tipper range. Marth also uses it to get grabs.

Sheik uses it for mindgames, as wavelanding to cancel full hopped aerial lag, and to increase the range of her down smash.
