Update Details:
Ver. 1.0.1 [Released 11/21/14]

Fixes to enhance gameplay stability and performance.
For consumers that pre-ordered from Nintendo.com or pre-purchased through Nintendo eShop, this update completes the pre-load download allowing for full game installation.
Notes:
This update must be applied in order to use the Internet features of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
Save data will still be available for use after downloading the update.
Replay data that is saved in the game prior to the patch update will no longer be playable after the update.

Once the update is installed, "Ver. 1.0.1" will be displayed in the bottom-rightcorner of the title screen.
Um... Did anyone catch this line? "Replay data that is saved in the game prior to the patch update will no longer be playable after the update."

The means that the initial game and the day one patch have different fighter attributes or mechanics somehow. As I patched mine and don't want to delete the save data, can someone who has played offline and not updated their Smash Bros for Wii U let us know what the differences are?

If they're the same as the 3DS patch 1.03, then that would show that the updates we've gotten were balance updates and that the 3DS wasn't just updated to match the Wii U version's more complete development debugging.

I played 1.0.0 for 3 days because I got the game early and I honestly didn't see any difference but I didn't play all characters so

I didn't play 1.0 because I updated right after I bought it. 1.1 added conquest mode, so that was obviously not there from the start.
