What techniques can carry over from melee to brawl?

I'm just wondering, since crouch cancelling, wavedashing, and a lot of techniques are gone, what can actually carry over? Is short-hopping still important? Basically what I mean is, with the new physics, what techniques in melee should be used less or never, and what techniques, new or not, should be used more heavily in brawl? Should Samus now play more defensively than ever, for example? Should I stop approaching by from the air or attempting to SHFFLC? Is edge hopping still good? Just wondering.

As far as Samus goes, not a single one except short hop dair, which is more viable now since its faster. MC'ing sure, but its different. Heres a tip though: For every homing missile you fire, you need to drop at least one bomb on the approach or two on the retreat. her bombs are phenomenal.

Hmm...interesting, but the bombs don't do damage on contact with the opponent, but only when they explode after a set time...or that's what I heard. But that means that you'd just have to time them to confuse your opponent. They can be laid faster now, which is an advantage I guess.
