What tech is most important when playing fox?

Fox is a character that needs to be played almost perfectly or you risk taking heavy punishes because of his light weight and because he's a fast faller. I know perfect pivoting, fox trotting and auto cancelling aerials are very important, but is there any other tech that is helpful for fox players to learn?

I think the most helpful tech is perfect pivoting. It lets Fox take his combo game further and his approach with U-tilt much deadlier.

Don't focus on tech as part of getting better with Fox though. The most important thing to learn with Fox is how he can punish opponent's options, and thus the most important part in a match is to know the opponents options and take note of which ones they choose to punish them appropriately.
