Due to complications with my current controller, I am considering changing pads. However, I feel as though I cannot cope with another left stick. The one I have now is very loose and therefore shield dropping, turn-arounds and dashing aerials are very easy and comfortable to execute. While the possibility of transferring this stick to another circuit board is always an option, the complications within this coupled with the convenience of just using an other controller deters me from this idea.
There have been a lot of threads about 'breaking in' a new controller, but what exactly does this define? Is it just how comfortable the player becomes with the controller? Or is there a physical change to the device itself? Does the stick itself get looser? And if so, how could this be achieved through other means? Would it be possible to directly change the tightness of the stick to suit ones needs? What is the mechanism behind how tight a left stick is?
I haven't seen many other threads on Gamecube controllers and their workings, so I'd like to get any and all information I can, particularly about both sticks.
All help appreciated!
