What just happened?! Possible Thoron/DI glitch?

So, i was messing around on for glory, practicing for an upcoming tourney. During one of my matches, this happened: https://youtu.be/trfLkZWbk1A?t=1m17s. What exactly happened, as i don't think you can tech thoron. Even if that was the case, how did they end up off the stage? I think this may be some glitch involving DI, or maybe something else. If this is the case, this would be a big problem, as people would have the possibility to survive thoron(or maybe other projectiles?), even if it lands. I hope we can get to the bottom of this!

I think the might have somehow crouched or DI'd into a crouch whilst getting hit by the spell, thus getting hit by the very bottom of thorons hitboxes, sending her in that downward direction.

That "glitch" has been around since Smash 3DS first came out; I almost lost some Robin dittos because of that nonsense.
