I just played, what, fifty matches straight with Bowser, Snake and Ness, arranged by order of usage.

Let me say this, my friend DOES play Fox at a competitive level, but his main is Yoshi. Yoshi seamlessly chain grabs me to the edge and eggs me to no end. Here's where the main problem comes in: no matter what, I always seem to be POUNDED by aerials before or without mine landing. I will say, do Snake's Dair and only the last two kicks can ever land, because Fox will somehow use extendo legs or something, and shoot me upward. Mario, Jiggs, no matter who, somehow, I need to get past these people. I can't even use Snake's range, somehow he manages to undo that regarding Snake's Nair.

Any tips to reduce falling vulnerability as Snake, along with tips for aerial combat?

I'm so used to melee's system I just can't understand the basics of the new air dodges. Care to explain the specifics? All I know is I can air dodge then attack or special out of it.

The airdodge system takes a little getting used to.

Essentially, your character will keep moving exactly like they were, except there is a short window of invulnerability, similar to a sidestep. After this dodge, the character can do anything else as usual, including dodge another time.

Also, snake's aerials are all fairly slow, both on the startup and on landing. Combined with his slow jump, this makes his aerial game not the strongest. Stick to his ground game: Mines, C4, tilts, dash attacks, upsmashes, grabs, and jab combos.

I know, though I've gotten some good SHDair and SHNair hits on unsuspecting people.

I guess it is the lag... It would explain why Fox was all up in it.

So just air dodge to the ground? Works for me.
