What is this tech?!

So I've gotten it a few times with robin but have no idea how I did it or how to replicate it.

I know how to b-reverse but this is something else and I need to know the inputs.

In this tech, robin SH forward and uses thunder.....but then his momentum went backwards instead of forwards.

At 3:59 in this video I found something similar but is that just DI back as pressing the b button? In my instance, I jumped forward...and then flew back as I used the b. Any answers appreciated!

In brawl their used to be b reverse and wave bounce. So you probably just wave bounced your B move.

On 3:59 of that video Mario uses his fireball and just moves back. There's no special technique to it. Basically the Mario player inputted the Special Button and then held back on the Analog Stick.
