I need equipment to do the crazy order's custom farming thing, but don't have any of the right equipment. What mode gets you the most equipment the fastest?

That can be a tricky question to answer, but if you have Smash 3DS, you can always transfer your customizations from that game, onto Smash Wii U.

Basically, you can get equipment from Classic, All-Star, Master Orders, Crazy Orders, Smash Tour, and even from your own amiibos. Also, some equipment can only be acquired by completing challenges, but their stats will be fixed.

I will tell you right now that in Smash 3DS, you can unlock the Home-Run Bat Agility Badge by sending Sandbag flying over 1968 ft. in Home-Run Contest. However, if you do this prematurely, you'll have to unlock challenge panel 2 before you can get the reward; once the panel is unlocked, any challenges that you've completed prematurely will automatically be marked as complete.

What if you don't have a 3ds? I have quick batter boots but I've been trying to get anything with the Home-Run bat equipped and haven't had any luck.

Crazy Orders gives it out like candy if you go far enough into it. There are a few threads you may want to check out in the Solo modes section. Specifically, decide whether you want to go with the First Striker, Home Run, Quick Batter approach or the Trade-Off Defender, Home Run, Desperate Immortal approach. Either has advantages and disadvantages over the other, depending on which character you are best with in that mode.

Additionally, you may consider my recent glitch discovery in Master Orders which allows you to rig it in your favor. Do not be surprised if this major glitch gets patched tomorrow. I only hope I discovered it late enough in Nintendo's patch cycle for it to be postponed to a future patch, but I am not taking chances. My Wii U is staying offline so I can enjoy tinkering further with this discovery.
