Someone hacked the site. I think it was a DDoS attack.
The more well known hackers are trying very hard to get it back up and running, or so I have heard.
Of course, if this is untrue, it's all I've heard so far.

It was DDoS'd. I cant find the article from one of the owners who said it, but he provided a list of things to do while it was down.
