Hey guys,

Couldn`t find a place to put this because each game has their own forums, and considering that so far I am leaning to Sm4sh, I put it here.

My question : As simple casual Brawl player, which of the 3 games should I get into more competetively?

Melee:
Pros:Very tight community,Amazing technical skill requires, more in-depth game mechanics, requires advanced skills to compete even casually
Cons: No online play( I dont think you can), Elitist community( not very welcoming form what i have seen)

Sm4Sh
Pros: Similarly technical, but not as much, many more characters, online play, amiibo.
Cons: Slower-paced than melee, not as technical.

Project M:
Pros: Similar to Melee? Apparent online play, ability to play on PC
Cons: No idea...

Like I said, i am leaning to sm4sh, but melee looks a lot more fun...

Well, if I recall, Melee can be played online in the same way Project M can (and/or emulator). So if that's a strong factor, don't let it influence you.

Melee is the fast and furious game. In my opinion, Project M is the better version of the same game. So between those two, I'd suggest Project M.

Over all, though, I suggest Smash4. It's easier to get into than Melee, has tighter over-all balance, doesn't require advanced inputs to be decent, is better looking, runs better, and actually has offense and defense balanced against each other, instead of favoring sheer aggression and death combos.

Ultimately, try 'em all, play 'em all, they're all really good games. If you plan to get seriously into competition, pick whichever suits you best. If you're good at advanced techniques and like a fast environment, play Melee or PM. If you prefer a less technical but equally (or greater, in my opinion) mental game, play Smash4.

I play with a Gamecube controller due to familiarity, using the official adapter. I can't vouch for the quality of any of the third-party adapters. The Pro Controller is an excellent alternative, though. Its lag is nearly negligible (an existing factor in an objective comparison, but for practicality it's negligible), the setup is pretty good, and it works for a lot of other U games, too. If you've spent a lot of time on past games (which it doesn't sound like you really have), go with the GCN, otherwise take your pick.

I understand the comfort thing, but i`m more interested in button layout and stuff. Is perfect pivot attack possible on the pro controller? And also, I the pro controller good for grabbing and doing more advanced techniques?

I find the Gamecube's layout better, but that's from muscle memory (I move my hand below my action buttons for a c-stick, so when it's above, I don't use it, since I don't remember it's there). Grabs, pivots, perfect pivots, all pretty easy on either controller. It really is about comfort. If you like having three buttons in a line (BAX on the Gamecube controller) go with that, if you prefer the diamond, go with Pro. And if you can find someone with both, give 'em a try before you buy.
