So today after I put "Bad-Match" in my handle, a user came back with the response, "Fox is high tier XD." Literally, what went through my mind was, "What the hell does that mean?"

So the title is pretty much self-explanatory, what is that statement supposed to mean? I guess its supposed to be a good thing? No, I'm not trolling here. I literally do not know what the whole tier thing is about.

If you said bad match because you won, the person wasn't giving you the credit you deserved by trying to insult you

No, I had lost. In person, I would have cited it was just a bad stage. It was Skyworld or something of that caliber.

If you lost, it's probably one of these two things
  1. Laughing at your skill, as he thinks Fox is high tier and should have been advantageous with the matchup, yet you lost against him.
  2. Laughing at how Fox is perceived as high tier. He may be using a lower-tier character and win you, so that he thinks Fox isn't that good of a character.
etc.

Top tier - Best in the game, next to no weaknesses

High tier - Great character with small weaknesses

Mid tier - Alright character, got a couple hindering weaknesses but still viable

Low tier - Usually gotta put alot if work to make this character work, very hindering weaknesses and strengths dont make up for it

Bottom tier - A character with no redeeming features
