I am ganon main but, i am going to second falco, i like his play style and he is fun to play with.

I am just picking him up and if there was one thing you wish you had practiced more with falco in your early days,

What would they have been?

Idk really

I think it would be good if you learned shield dropping early on because it really isn't that hard and it comes in handy alot.

A falco specific thing would probably be to learn good platform movement and combos. What I'm thinking of is to use alot of empty wavelands -->utilts or even usmash (By empty wavelands I mean that you don't try to shine your enemy between your jumps) to extend a combo when any other option wouldn't really lead to anything. An example would be if your enemy DI'd towards the top platfrom of BF and you are on the right platform, too far away to do a SH aerial/Shine him. You can either FH aerial (this is a % where a bair or nair wont lead to an edgeguard) and not be able to follow it up or you could waveland on to the top platform and utilt/usmash him.

There are more important things but I don't know which parts you need help with and which ones you already know.

I wish I had practiced more dash dance/WD spacing instead of relying so much on lasers. I'm really only now getting to work on my spacing without lasers as most people are getting better and better at dealing with lasers, and the metagame for Falco definitely seems to be shifting away from lasers as a result.

This. This is why I'm gonna play sheik for a little bit during and after apex. How do we feel about this?

From 2003 to 2010 i didn't know there were advanced techniques in this game, and i just played it like once a month at my friends house.

So I kinda wish I had known that there was a pro scene and advanced techniques so I could see how beautiful this game is before now.

I wish i cud shine out of shield good to avoid pressure especially against another falco, and i wish i started Lcanceling with a light press of L cuz u can miss a lot of techs from getting in the habbit of pressing L too much, good players dont miss techs Lazers are the most important thing to learn early on, varying the heights will dictte opponents movements especially on FD where u can timeout someone by camping like a pro

Yes, lasers are good but laser camping can't can't time out anyone good. Lasers have landing lag and falco's run speed is not all that good. Sheik, marth, fox, and falcon (so not peach) can all catch him. Not to mention power shielding. Falco only seems fast because falco players like wavelands, ledge cancels, and he has very fast vertical aerial mobility. There is much less of that on FD.

And lul, I just practiced shining out of shield for about 10 minutes, it's easy (I don't play space animals).
