Pokemon X and Y was a successful world wide release for Nintendo...and their first if I can recall.

Smash Bros. is pretty popular as well, so what are the chances of Smash 4 being a world wide release...for both systems? I think it's a necessity, and if not at least make the releases between regions a day or two apart like Super Mario 3D World.

So what do you think?...Also, as always, apologies if other threads similar to this have been made in abundance.

Pretty good, imho. I'm confident that in the worst case scenario the game will release in a couple of weeks span tops.
I hope it releases worldwide so I won't spoiler myself.

I'm hoping for a worldwide release for sure, the extra wait we had for brawl in my region was... heavy.

European too? Half a year after Japan was unbelievably hard.

I'm not keeping my hopes up personally, would absolutely love it, but given the big wait between the Japanese and European release with both Melee and Brawl, I'm certainly not counting on it.

I'm really hoping Pokemon X and Y has set a standard. Considering there should be a lot less to translate in SSB4 than X and Y there should be no reason not to have a worldwide release.

As far as I can see the only Pokemon revealed for Smash 4 is Pikachu. Since the release of X and Y none of the Pokemon involved in that game were revealed yet.

Since X and Y was a succesful world wide release like you said and the end result of Sm4sh doesn't include any of the X and Y Pokemon, then I think it is safe to say it will not be a worldwide success.

So yeah it pretty much depends on the characters that ppl want in the game.

After what happened with X and Y?

I'd say a number between -1 and 1.

What happened with X and Y that makes it a such a smalll chance?
What, you mean the fact that people ended up getting the game early anyway and Ninty got so pissed that they actually sent people out to get it back?

Kinda think they'd be needlessly paranoid about trying a worldwide release again after that. Plus, I don't think Smash has enough reasons for it like Pokemon did since for that, it was a pretty big leap from what it used to be before from the old gens to gen 6. Meanwhile with Smash 4, it's...well it's just another Smash game.

LOL do you really think they sent someone to get the game back from costumers? Come on.

Customer* to be precise. It was only one guy. Kinda surprised that you're...well, surprised about it since everyone was talking about it for awhile here before. Especially with all the articles about it. *shrugs* Not like it mattered in the end since he just gave the game back to the store.

But let's put that aside. Like I said, there really isn't anything about Smash 4 that's so impressive that they would feel the need to absolutely do a worldwide release.

It'd definitely be nice, but it's kind of unrealistic to expect.

On the topic of Pokemon is the WiiU hackable? The 3DS has proven to be a stubborn *******. Usually we'd know all the events and Hidden legendarys.

Three hidden legendaries were leaked a few weeks ago. Also an event Floette looking as AZ's one.
For finding out if the WiiU is hackerable I think we'll have to wait bigger releases. As of now almost nobody cares, but wait that Mario Kart and Smash Bros. hit the market.

Nintendo needs to not be so freakin' stupid. Did they seriously do that for that single customer? Leaks of games happen.

THEY. HAPPEN.

Why would Nintendo not make something release worldwide simply because a few lucky fools get the game mere hours before the rest of the world? Sounds silly if you ask me.

Not trying to start something but you don't see Sony going bat**** crazy over stuff like that. It's a part of gaming, people are going to get special privileges regardless if it's right or not.

@mygamecube From what I recall they actually got their hands on the game a few WEEKS before the intended release. (Or at least one week, still though)

It should be 100%.

Sadly, it's probably only like 40%.

The situation that happened with Brawl (where Japan gets the game weeks in advance) will likely happen again (sans Europe and Australia waiting over half a year).

Europe and Australia might even need to wait several months for no freaking reason.

Yeah, Nintendo better make it a worldwide release. If they don't, I hope they feel it in the coffers, and I hope the people who made that decision get fired, cut, dropped, and replaced by people who can actually do the job.

It wasn't mere hours, though. The article indicates that it was over a week early.

In any case, the fact of the matter is that this game store (through that employee) violated their agreement with Nintendo by allowing that game to be sold so early. If it hadn't been a planned worldwide release, I don't think Nintendo would have been as upset. And had that person not been foolish enough to post leaks like he did, then Nintendo may have been none the wiser. As a matter of fact, Rockstar had something similar happen with some Amazon customers receiving their copies a day early. And they were PISSED. So it's not just Nintendo.
