Since an awesome mode like smash run is 3ds only, i would think the wii u version would have a mode similar or even better.

SSE is out so what could it be

what do you think?

How about a well built online tournament system, allow up to 64 players (I think that was the maximum Melee allowed, been a while) and run multiple battles at once. Champion gets a little sticker or some indicator by their name/icon, making them a natural target for other players. Whoever eliminates a previous champ gets extra coins.

I'm pretty much thinking all of the poll choices aside from SSE and possibly boss mode.

Event Mode is probably a given. It's a liked-enough mode and it fun. A Melee-style adventure mode would greatly increase the single-player replayability, which is super big for me. I really wished that Brawl had had one, SSE was definitely not the same/as good. I'm hoping we have a mode like that in SSB4, a lot.

Classic Mode may be longer than the 3DS version, I'm not sure though. In all likelihood it'll be the same length.

Boss Mode is the one I'm unsure of. There may be bosses in the game, but I'm not certain on this at all. The Boss mode in Brawl was a direct spinoff of SSE. I'd like to see it return, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it didn't. But I wouldn't want to add stage bosses/sacrifice K. Rool or Ridley's potential playability for the sake of an extra boss mode.

Tournament mode would be cool. Never really used it in melee but with online it could be fairly awesome. In melee it was a clear "hey you can probably play this competitively" mode which was great in addition to break the targets, adventure mode, and definitely event mode.

Tournament mode was in brawl too...

A mode where 0/1-4 players play using their Pro Controller or GameCube Controller or what have you, and one person plays using the Gamepad and controls the stage hazards/boss.

I think we'll definitely get Event Mode back, and probably Stage Builder as well for the Wii U version, the 3DS was probably already full to the brim with content which won't be an issue for the Wii U I think. I hope Adventure Mode from Melee returns though, I loved playing through that.

I think Wii U will definitely have events.

I'm expecting an Adventure mode of some sort too. I'm hoping for something Melee-sized, but more side scrolling-heavy. (Melee's adventure was a huge dissapointment for me in that sense.)

Something between Melee's Adventure mode and Brawl's SSE. (Get it? Bringing it full circle of how this game will be "in between Melee and Brawl")

Sakurai going back on his word and adding additional characters to make up for the frankly bias and terribly constructed 3DS roster.

Could be a mode that utilizes the gamepad
A boss battle mode that lets the gamepad user control the boss while the other characters/players try to take them down.

Didn't Nintendo reps take notes at recent tournaments on what people wanted for online? If so I hope they are spending time adding Battlefield to the For Glory playlist among other stuff that people have asked or. Event mode seems most likely to me, and the HD is going to look great.

I would be completely fine without a "Smash Run affiliate" for Wii U.
All we need are better graphics, more brand new stages, more songs, comfy controller and stable online.
I could care less about break the targets and boss battles. Those modes felt more like a grind and only really playable a few times. Same goes for the Homerun Contest and inevitably Target Smash.
Stage builder I'm 50/50 on. It was fun building them, but years later there isn't a single custom stage of mine worth playing on. The original Smash stages will always be better than any custom stage you can make.
Event Matches aren't in the 3DS version, so they would be a welcome inclusion for the Wii U version.

i think it would be cool if stage builder let you edit existing stage or build on top of their final destination versions

Deep stage builder.

@ Malcolmnex Malcolmnex I think building on the final station versions is a CAPITAL idea. I can't believe I've never thought of that. That's a perfect solution and the best of both worlds!

Ridley...alt costume for Dark Pit
Hey man, sorry for unrelated note but I'm fairly new to Smashboards and I was wondering how to get a signature like yours. Like just a standard list of all the charcters I wanted in, thanks.

Considering how the Wii-U is supposed to be more multiplayer focused....maybe a Tag Battle mode?

Most likely a well thought out Event Mode. As awesome as Melee's Adventure Mode was, Event Matches are more hype, excited and interesting.
