What do you think is the best way to train a amiibo?

I like to train my Link amiibo by putting him in 8-player smash, and having the rest of the slots covered by level 9 Villagers on a team together, against Link. For 99 minutes. All items. Yep.

im just peachy

i usually do one on one flat stage no items, like when i got my zelda amiibo for example,
i played as zelda as well, so she would learn the things i did as zelda, and now she's one amazing lv50 zelda ! :4zelda:

Did that with donkey kong. He ended up being the worst of my 5 amiibos at the time (got 9 now). If you do that, he is god awful and does a lot of missed attacks on 1v1s. He also won't win any 1v2s and up. My other amiibos easily defeats him it's embarrassing. Plays much better if you train him properly which I did had to reset him.

With my amiibos, their training regime is usually this:
  • Level 1 - 10 - Pair them up against a LV9 CPU who is the same character as them.
  • Level 11 - 20 - Mirror match against myself playing as the amiibo's character (ie. Luigi amiibo vs Player Luigi)
  • Level 21 - 30 - Start battling against them as my mains (in this case, Robin and Lucina. But I also try to throw other characters into the mix, ie. Greninja, Marth, Charizard)
  • Level 31 - 40 - At around this point, it's nearly impossible for me to battle them without losing and/or getting 2-stocked. I still try to the best of my ability, however.
  • Level 41 - 49 - The amiibo becomes a doubles partner as we both battle against a team of two LV9 CPUs.
  • Level 49 - 50 - One final battle with the amiibo before they reach Level 50. I want to see everything they've got against me and see if they're up to scratch.

Thinking about training my Rosalina amiibo myself as Rosalina and see how that turns out.
