It is faster than brawl, but slower than melee. It is sort of floaty, but not to much. Atleast they are thinking about the competetive side of the game.

It's still a little too slow. If the trend of adjusting the speed of the new game between the previous iteration and Melee continues, it should be about right in the next 3 or 4 games.

Just right. I think the speed being faster than Brawl but slower than Melee is a good compromise.

I really don't know why I added the to fast, >_< I don't even think that people think that fast mode in Melee was to fast, mabye it was, IDK.

I feel like its a little too slow.I get the feeling the speed in the demo will not be the speed in the final game. But if the speed in the final game is the same as in the demo I'd be ok with it.

I haven't go to touch the demo, but it looks like a mixture of Melee and Brawl. Brawl I felt it was slow, but Melee seemed fast (I got seizures). I think the speed it's at will take some getting used to, but from seeing all the gameplay, it looks like Combos are much easier to perform (imo)!

This game is faster than Brawl in general, but it's still not fast enough for several reasons:

-Too much landing lag after aerials and too much endlag after throws.
-Not many movement options as we know of yet. Makes it hard to approach.
-Still a little on the floaty side.
-I've heard some say characters are smooth and responsive to control input. Others have had different opinions.

Overall this game is promising but still needs work, but that is okay because this is an unfinished build. I predict this game will have a whole new feel for everyone, meaning new tactics may have to be developed. No one can really dive into this expecting a clone of any of the previous Smash games.

This is Smash 4. A new game. A new experience. A new metagame.

I like the speed of the game. It suits my playing habits, personally.
Brawl was a bit too slow for me but I can't exactly handle Melee (not that anyone I've played with in person could utilize it all that well, and if they could even remotely do it, they were really rude about people who couldn't).

This game felt right to me when I played it at the demo and it'll be even better when it comes out, I'm sure.

Game is systematically at the right speed.

But the individual tuning per-character (as of the demo) is not where it should be in my opinion. There needs to be either a decrease in frames for many of the animations, or an increase in hitstun. Some moves in the demo were already in the right place, though, so it's not really a system problem so much as a tuning problem.

As far as core mechanics go, I would only ask for about 25% more gravity across the board. While it does increase the game speed, it's more about the fact I don't like how generous the recovery systems are right now. I find the game off of the ledge will be more engaging if people are forced to recover from lower than what we had seen in the demo.

Edit - Of course, if gravity is tuned, Little Mac would need some recovery/fall speed adjustments. Goes without saying. :b

I still feel there are some problems with the speed being a little to slow but overall I think it's pretty good. There is combo potential at at least a little more speed than brawl. If they could fine tune the knockback and the lag in some instances, (I'm not saying L canceling so much as I'm saying just reduce it all together.) I think it'd probably be really good. There's still a few months left for development though. I'm hopeful for it.
